Dr Lewis was awarded her doctorate from the University of Queensland in 2022. Her research topic is the development and evaluation of a data collection method, and resultant policy recommendations, in relation to the price and affordability of healthy (recommended) and current (unhealthy) diets in low socioeconomic groups in Australia. The PhD was supported by the Prevention Centre.

Meron also provides data analysis support on Prevention Centre projects aimed at improving Aboriginal food security and dietary intake in remote communities, and chronic disease prevention. She assisted with the development and testing of the nationally standardised Healthy Diets ASAP (Australian Standardised Affordability and Pricing) methods protocol, and played a key role in tailoring the protocol for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander groups.  She has also provided research support for a rapid evidence review for the Commonwealth Department of Health.

Prior to undertaking her degree in Nutrition & Dietetics at QUT, Meron worked in the field of Intellectual Property and has also worked with older Australians through Meals on Wheels.
