Chronic disease is our greatest health challenge, causing the most premature deaths and disability in Australia and most other countries.
Our vision is for an effective, efficient and equitable system for the prevention of chronic disease.
We strengthen and enhance the national prevention system through our established extensive infrastructure and networks, capability building, and support and translation of innovative policy-relevant evidence.
Taking a systems approach, our work will:

Create and make readily available knowledge, either new or through syntheses of what is already known.

Build capacity to make more informed choices about prevention at policy, strategy, program and implementation levels.
