Seminar: How do we improve preventive health care in pregnancy?
The studies focused on antenatal care concerning smoking, alcohol consumption, gestational weight gain, healthy diet and physical activity. Following the presentation of study findings, a panel of policy, practice and research partners share their perspectives of the benefits and challenges of working on these collaborative projects.
The projects were undertaken in collaboration with maternity service and policy partners in New South Wales, South Australia and Tasmania and included the development of localised guideline recommendations for preventive care, assessment of current care practices along with barriers and enablers to care, and development and pilot testing of implementation strategies to improve care.
