Australia’s Food Environment Dashboard launch
In June 2021, the Prevention Centre in partnership with the Global Obesity Centre and Obesity Policy Coalition launched the dashboard that brings together the best available and most up-to-date data on all aspects of Australia’s food environments including key indicators of the healthiness of our food supply, labelling, pricing, marketing, and government and company policies.
This tool developed by a team under the leadership of Associate Professor Gary Sacks and INFORMAS (Deakin University), and funded by the Prevention Centre, brings together the best available and most up-to-date data on all aspects of Australia’s food environments including key indicators of the healthiness of our food supply, labelling, pricing, marketing, and government and company policies.
It provides a summary of key indicators of the healthiness of food environments with traffic light scores to help users see where food environments promote health (green), need improvement (amber) or are unhealthy (red).
