Professor John Wiggers
Professor Wiggers is a population health researcher with an established profile of research, research translation and service delivery relating to the prevention of tobacco and alcohol-related harms and the prevention of child obesity.
His research has centred on trials in a variety of settings to determine the effectiveness of interventions when implemented under routine service delivery conditions.
He has published more than 140 peer-reviewed papers and tested models of intervention translation resulting in more than 20 instances of translation into routine service delivery practice at the local, state, national and international levels.
His service delivery has centred on leading prevention and population health services for the residents of the Hunter New England region of NSW.
