Dr Ashleigh Haynes

Dr Ashleigh Haynes is the David Hill Research Fellow at the Centre for Behavioural Research in Cancer at Cancer Council Victoria and an Honorary Research Fellow in the Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences at University of Melbourne.
Using a range of methods including observational studies, content analysis, population surveys, and experiments, her research has investigated the nature and impact of the food environment and unhealthy industry marketing related to diet and obesity and has more recently expanded to the areas of sun protection, alcohol, and tobacco control.
She has collaborated with policy advocates, decisionmakers, and practitioners, and her work has been used in policy advocacy and health promotion practice related to alcohol labelling, food and drink marketing, public health mass media campaigns, school food environments, restaurant menu energy labelling, and action on portion sizes.
