This presentation shares the findings of a two-and-a-half-year partnership research project on the evaluation of the Wagga Wagga Active Travel Plan. The project investigated the impact of a 57km long city-wide network of new or upgraded shared pathways built in the regional city of Wagga Wagga, located on the Murrumbidgee River in Wiradyuri country, about 450km south-west of Sydney.
Evaluation of the impact of a regional active travel network infrastructure build of this size has never been undertaken before and provided an excellent opportunity for a natural experiment.
