Leah will discuss how citizen science approaches have been used in preventive health and their impacts for communities and policy and practice, how citizen science complements and aligns with existing approaches to engage the public in research and decision making, as well as the opportunities and challenges of incorporating citizen science within the work of policy and practice organisations. 

Leah Marks is a PhD candidate and research officer based at the Menzies Centre for Health Policy and Economics, University of Sydney. Leah received a scholarship from The Australian Prevention Partnership Centre to complete her PhD, which forms part of a larger Prevention Centre project – The Citizen Science in Prevention Project.
