The Communicate Study Partnership are hosting the third First Nations Health Communication Symposium. The theme of the symposium is: Preparing for our future.
This event brings together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders, health professionals, researchers and community advocates to explore innovative strategies for improving health communication with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Topics will include patient-provider interactions, communication training, communication in medical education, culturally safe communication, narrative medicine, health literacy, shared decision making, interpreter mediated healthcare delivery, bilingual workforce initiatives and more.
The symposium will be held in person and online, following in-person workshops on Wednesday 18 October on intercultural communication and working with Aboriginal Interpreters and Aboriginal Liaison Officers.
