The core competencies are the minimum set of competencies for health promotion practitioners to work efficiently, effectively and appropriately. They also form criteria for the registration of practitioners and accreditation of courses through the International Union of Health Promotion Education (IUHPE).

The first of this three-part series will cover change, advocacy and partnerships with:

  • Lucy Wickham (AHPA Board Director, and Chair National Accreditation Organisation Management Committee) will overview the Australian health promotion registration system, from a student and early career practitioner perspective.
  • Kalyisah Farid (Program Lead at Foodbank WA) will share her experiences as an IUHPE Registered Health Promotion Practitioner, focusing on the competencies of enabling change, advocating for health, and mediating through partnership.
