Ms Phuong Nguyen has a Master of Public Health & Master of Human Services Management degree (2014 – from Deakin University). She is currently a part-time Doctor of Philosophy candidate at Deakin University as well as a Research Fellow in Deakin Health Economics (DHE).

Phuong Nguyen’s research focuses on the economic evaluation of obesity and sedentary behaviour prevention interventions. She has conducted several economic evaluation studies for the NHMRC funded Centre of Research Excellence (CRE) in Obesity Policy and Food Systems. The ACE-Obesity Policy team was recently awarded the CAPHIA (Council of Academic Public Health Institutions Australasia) award for Excellence and Innovation in Public Health Team Research. She has also been involved in the WHO-STOPS Childhood Obesity trial funded by a NHMRC Partnership Project and currently working on the other two trials to reduce sitting time in a workplace setting.
