Dr Penny Love

Research Fellow

Dr Penny Love has finished working with the Prevention Centre.

Dr Love is Research Fellow at the World Health Organization for Obesity Prevention, Deakin University, Centre for Population Health Research. Her current research focuses on community-wide obesity prevention through diffusion of innovation and collective impact, with a specific interest in remote and rural communities, such as the YCHANGe initiative (Yarriambiack – Creating healthy, active, nourished generations). Her other research area is food security and the systematic measurement of the food supply.

Dr Love is an accredited practising dietitian with extensive experience spanning policy, practice and research. She has worked as a public health nutrition practitioner in a range of contexts in urban, rural and remote area, and is the national co-convener for the Public Health and Community Nutrition Interest Group of the Dietitians Association of Australia.
