Dr Joachim Worthington is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Gastrointestinal Cancers Policy and Evaluation stream at The Daffodil Centre. He completed a PhD in Applied Mathematics at the University of Sydney in 2017.
Joachim’s current research focuses on using modelling to evaluate the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of colorectal and liver cancer screening and early detection in Australia and internationally. Joachim’s work uses economic analysis to provide cost-effectiveness results for policy decision-making, including the evaluating the return-on-investment of mass-media campaigns, and the potential impact of COVID-19 on screening in Australia. He is a key investigator on the Preventing liver cancer: obesity and alcohol consumption project.
