Dr Elly Howse is an Adjunct Fellow with the School of Public Health, University of Technology Sydney and a Research Affiliate with the Prevention Research Collaboration in the Sydney School of Public Health at the University of Sydney.

Elly is a public health researcher with experience in chronic disease prevention, systems approaches to health promotion, and public health policy. Her PhD examined public opinion and community attitudes about the prevention of lifestyle-related chronic disease. She is a mixed-methods researcher with additional training in qualitative methods and health economic evaluation. Elly is also experienced in knowledge translation and communicating evidence with policy makers and practitioners.

In addition to her work in the research and university sector, Elly has experience in federal and state politics. She has worked closely with federal and state ministers and shadow ministers on a range of public policy issues including health, education, youth affairs, and social services.
