Dr Sandro Sperandei is an epidemiologist and statistician, with extensive experience in complex sampling, statistical models, and simulation, with emphasis in suicide prevention and marginalised and hard-to-reach populations. Sandro has 20 years of experience in data analysis in fields including people living with HIV, drug users, very low-income populations, diabetes, hypertension, physical activity, and others. Currently, his research focus is on the fields of transgender women and suicide prevention and mental health.

His current projects include the analysis of determinants of self-harm and suicidal ideation presentations to emergency department to hospitals in Western Sydney and Sydney Local Health Districts and also behaviours and sexual practices of transgender women in Brazil.
