Dr Alexandra Chung a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Health and Social Care Unit, School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine. Her research interests include childhood obesity prevention, health equity, and the role of policy to equitably improve children’s diets.
Alexandra currently holds a VicHealth Postdoctoral Research Fellowship. Her Fellowship research is focused on food marketing targeting children and their parents, and policy options to reduce the harmful impacts of this marketing. This program of work builds upon Alexandra’s PhD research which advanced understanding of the trends, determinants and current approaches to address socioeconomic inequalities in childhood obesity in Australia.
Alexandra is a qualified dietitian with experience in clinical and public health nutrition. She regularly contributes to teaching and assessment with the Department of Nutrition, Dietetics and Food at Monash University.
