Cindy Jones is the Prevention Centre’s Senior Communications Officer. She is a former journalist with media communications expertise in health, research and advocacy, and experience in content development and editing for a range of stakeholder audiences. She has worked with several health agencies including the Australian Society of Anaesthetists, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network, AIDS Council of NSW, and the NSW Health Department and Minister’s Office.
As well as spending more than two decades translating complex information into plain English, interpreting research and shaping case studies for media stories or patient publications, she is also an accredited Mental Health First Aider.
Cindy is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Professional Editors (IPEd) and the Collaboration for Enhanced Research Impact (CERI) Science Communications Community of Practice.
