Associate Professor Kate Huggins’ research over the last 10 years has centred on clinical practice-led and clinical practice-based research. She was the recipient of a National Health and Medical Research Translating Research in Practice Fellowship (TRIP 2019 -2021).  She is currently Program Manager for a research partnership between Western Alliance, Universities (Deakin, Federation, Monash and Melbourne) and healthcare providers and consumers in the west and south west regions of regional/rural Victoria. This research program seeks to expand and improve home-based care for older adults using optimised digital and non-digital solutions.

Kate has worked with the clinical teams at Monash Health and Eastern Health to develop novel solutions for better patient care and better patient health. She has experience in hospital-based intervention studies and supervising and mentoring clinical staff in research skill development. As a health researcher, she works to identify solutions to health and health care problems that can be rapidly translated into practice. To achieve this goal, she has completed professional development training in digital health, implementation and dissemination science and health innovation leadership.
