Please describe your role in one or two sentences: I am responsible for designing and implementing policy and program evaluations as part of the Rapid Response Evaluation Capacity.
The best part of my role is … working with diverse stakeholders around Australia to evaluate the important prevention work they are doing.
The most challenging part is ... working only on parts of evaluations, which can be frustrating as it limits ability to assess the big picture.
I’m interested in the work of the Prevention Centre … it has so much promise for improving the way we manage prevention around the country.
At work I am always learning … patience and persistence are necessary for change.
Before my current position, my most memorable role was … Head of Research at Justice Health where I enjoyed the opportunity for my research to have an immediate impact on a highly vulnerable and unwell population.
Most people don’t know that I … have won multiple gold, silver and bronze medals at international sporting competitions in soccer, volleyball and softball.
My favourite journey is … I love to travel and actually really enjoy long-haul flights for the chance to escape into movies and being out of internet and mobile connection.
I would most like to live … in Amsterdam one day (my partner is Dutch). I love the cycling culture, the canals and easy-going nature of the Dutch. I’m not sure I’d cope without the Australian weather though.
