Ms Ruth Walker is a Research Fellow at the Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation and working as a dietician at Middle Island Medical Clinic in regional Victoria.
Ruth hopes to bridge the evidence-practice gap that currently exists regarding how to engage women of childbearing age in conversations about healthy lifestyles to optimise pregnancy outcomes and prevent chronic disease later in life.
In early 2019, Ruth submitted her PhD on the how to support health professionals in primary and hospital-based antenatal care to optimise maternal health and weight gain during pregnancy.
