Dr Emily Brennan

Research Fellow

Dr Brennan is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Behavioural Research in Cancer at Cancer Council Victoria, and an Honorary Research Fellow in the Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences at University of Melbourne. Her research has focused on studying the ways in which public communication interventions can be used to reduce unhealthy behaviours like tobacco use and harmful levels of alcohol consumption. Dr Brennan’s research uses focus groups, population surveys, observational studies and experiments, and her research has helped to shape policy, practice and the international evidence base on the effectiveness of cancer prevention interventions including mass media campaigns, graphic health warnings, and plain packaging.
