Dr Cate Bailey is a Research Fellow at the Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation, Monash University. She is currently receiving a scholarship through the Prevention Centre to undertake a second PhD in health economics on the topic of improving intergenerational health through lifestyle interventions in pregnancy.

Dr Bailey is an early career expert in statistics, with a Masters in Applied Statistics from Swinburne University, specialising in the analysis of large, longitudinal datasets. She has a PhD in forensic psychology from Deakin University (2016) evaluating a community-based intervention to address child sexual abuse in remote Aboriginal communities in Western Australia.

Her current focus is on women’s health through the life course, and the economic implications of intervening to improve maternal and infant health. Other current projects include investigating the role of the workplace in preconception health, and an evaluation of high-quality education on improving academic outcomes for children experiencing social disadvantage.
