Professor Andrew Milat is a Professor of Public Health and Senior Adviser at Sydney Health Partners, Prevention Research Collaboration, The University of Sydney. Andrew is a member of the Prevention Centre’s Scientific Advisory Committee, having made a significant contribution to the area of research evaluation and systems capability building and implementation science. He is ranked in the top 0.1% of researchers globally in program evaluation and has published more than 150 academic journal papers related to implementation, scale-up and evaluation methods.

Andrew’s previous roles include Acting Executive Director and Director, Evidence and Evaluation, Centre for Epidemiology and Evidence, NSW Ministry of Health; Head of the Knowledge Transfer Division at the Sax Institute; Research Manager with the Australian Government Department of Health; and, Local Health District, Director of Health Promotion.

He is a public sector leader and responsible for connecting researchers, policy makers and clinicians with actionable insights. With more than 20 years’ experience in the design, implementation and evaluation of innovative health policies and programs at national, state and local levels, Andrew has a unique appreciation of the interface between health research, policy and practice.
