Special guest Dr Belinda Reeve teaches and researches in the areas of public health law and health law at The University of Sydney Law School. This presentation will focus on the unique skills that legal training gives to those researching the role of law in improving public health, although it will also raise points that will be relevant to advocacy or policymaking too. Examples from areas such as urban planning and local government law will be used to illustrate key points, drawing on Belinda’s recent work on the role of local governments in improving food system functioning. It will be followed by a discussion on implications for research, policy and practice.
