Toowoomba Healthy Towns is a citizen science-based initiative, which aimed to give citizens a voice and advocate for healthy, walkable and cycling communities. In this community of practice session, Associate Professor Tracy Kolbe-Alexander from the Centre of Health Research at the University of Southern Queensland will share how the Our Voice Citizen Science Research Initiative methodology was employed. This approach has been implemented in more than 18 countries and comprises of four phases to enable community members to discover, discuss, advocate and change. Tracy will present findings from two of the four groups being recruited in the project, including children (10-12 years) and adults.
