About the study

This study challenges traditional research methodologies by centring Indigenous knowledges and practices in the development of a smoking and vaping cessation program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women. It explores how the collective sovereign knowledge of these women was used to design the Which Way program, a culturally responsive initiative that prioritises community rights and safe, culturally grounded care. The paper highlights the importance of moving beyond Eurocentric, co-designed research approaches, and reaffirms the value of Indigenous research methods in public health.
