Public Health Law Community of Practice

Dr Jenny Kaldor is a lawyer, researcher, and policy analyst. She is interested in how law, policy, and regulation affect public health, and in methods to better understand these relationships. She is currently employed as a Senior Policy Analyst in the Public Health Emergency Operations Centre for COVID-19, within the Tasmanian Department of Health.

Jenny’s PhD research related to regulatory innovation in the arena of public health nutrition; it identified, mapped, and analysed mandatory nutrient limits, a new measure that has been implemented in over 30 countries worldwide to improve population diets. Her research has been published in journals including Public Health Ethics and Public Health Nutrition, and she was a co-author on the Lancet-O’Neill Institute Commission on Global Health and Law’s 2019 report The Legal Determinants of Health: Harnessing the power of law for global health and sustainable development.
