As researchers, policymakers and practitioners, we frequently engage with policy-relevant issues or seek to directly inform policy processes. Understanding policy processes, the challenges of the public sector and how research and advocacy can be used as tools to drive change is important for successful policy making and policy research. We know there are many barriers to creating policy change, with a history or successes and failures. So how do we support policy change? What can we do to ensure research is policy relevant and policy is evidence based?
