EPOCH-Connect is a community of practice initiated and supported by the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Translating Early Prevention of Obesity in Childhood (EPOCH-Translate).

Our purpose is to build capacities and facilitate opportunities to advance research and generate policy/practice impact in obesity prevention in early childhood. We bring together students, early and mid-career researchers (EMCRs) from multiple disciplines across Australia who share an interest/passion for early childhood obesity prevention.

Students and EMCRs will build multidisciplinary networks, strengthen capacities in collaborative research and research translation, and access to mentoring opportunities from the leaders in the field.

If you’re a research student or EMCR passionate about making a difference in children’s health in 0-5 years, join us for our inaugural community of practice meeting. At this meeting, you will:

1. Hear from Prof Karen Campbell, the co-creator of the INFANT program, about how the first EPOCH collaboration was formed and the importance of inter-disciplinary collaboration.

2. Gain insights from EMCRs on their experiences of being part of the EPOCH collaboration and the impact on their career progression.

3. Find out more about EPOCH-Connect community of practice and how you can be involved.
