2024 John Deeble Lecture and Panel Discussion
Global health and well-being are in crisis, and no single country is equipped to address this alone. Health and healthcare systems face numerous challenges, with many more anticipated. These challenges transcend national boundaries, demanding unprecedented levels of collaboration, sharing, agility, new skills, and expanded networks.
Effective leadership in healthcare fosters a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration, enhancing patient care and safety. Emerging health leaders must contribute meaningfully and bring fresh perspectives to the table.
In the 2024 John Deeble Lecture, Professor Jonathon Gray (Director of the Commonwealth Leadership Institute) will reflect on his leadership journey and the strength of leadership in times of crisis.
Prof Gray will also be joined in conversation by the Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority CEO, Professor Michael Pervan to discuss the importance of recognising and supporting emerging leaders.
Following the Lecture, Panel Discussions will reflect on the journey to date and examine the vision to come focussing on the leadership required for the future, including the leadership required to drive equity and innovation, for responding to national disasters and emergencies and to address global challenges for local health security.
This in-person event will be held at the National Museum of Australia, Canberra, ACT.
