Ms Ananthapavan is a Senior Research Fellow with the Deakin Health Economics team.
She was a rehabilitation physiotherapist before completing a Master in Public Health at the University of Melbourne. She worked in health economics consulting in the UK then moved back to Melbourne to commence her research career at Deakin Health Economics. She is currently coordinating the health economics component of the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Obesity Policy and Food Systems, which is investigating the cost-effectiveness of 40 non-health sector obesity prevention interventions.
She is also undertaking a PhD investigating the potential use of cost-benefit analysis to facilitate whole-of-government approaches to priority setting upstream obesity prevention interventions.
